Nicole and Justin - From NYC to the autumnal English countryside
Nicole and Justin’s autumnal Eastwell Manor wedding was a seamless blend of seasonal blooms, personal touches, and effortless countryside elegance from start to finish
Some weddings arrive with a sense of story before the first guest steps through the door. Nicole and Justin’s UK destination wedding at Eastwell Manor was exactly that — a celebration built across continents, with family and friends flying in from New York and beyond to join them in the English countryside.
They dreamed of a wedding that felt intimate, personal, and quintessentially autumnal in the English Countryside. From our first planning conversations — conducted mostly remotely — to the final dance of the evening, the day reflected both their life together and their shared love of warm, seasonal design.
Planning across the pond
Nicole and Justin planned their wedding from the US, meeting me only once before the wedding for the food tasting. Their brief was simple but clear: autumnal, elegant, and rich in texture, drawing inspiration from the Manor itself. That gave me the freedom to create a design that felt luxurious, considered, and true to the landscape, while keeping the process smooth and collaborative from afar.
Ceremony in the walled garden
Nicole was determined to have an outdoor ceremony, despite the unpredictability of an October day in Kent. Originally planned by the fountain, the 55mph winds had other ideas. But sometimes obstacles make the day even more memorable. We found a tucked-away corner in the walled gardens and created bespoke floral arrangements that transformed the space into a true autumnal garden experience — overflowing blooms, large-scale arrangements, and the kind of detail that turns a corner of a garden into a ceremony that feels entirely theirs.
Interiors, Tablescapes and Autumnal Design
Eastwell Manor’s dark wood interiors provided the perfect canvas. Deep reds, warm pinks, and rich green accents flowed throughout the space, complementing dark wood chairs and toile-pattern tableware. Sage & Co’s florals added both structure and movement, spilling over the fireplace backdrop behind the top table and woven into the tablescapes with contemporary bow styling, seasonal fruits, and autumnal vegetables for that luxe yet grounded touch.
The stationery echoed the intricate textures of the room — tying each element together so that the tablescape felt curated, personal, and effortless.
Personal Moments
This was a day full of surprises and personality. One of the highlights? The groom and his groomsmen performing a choreographed dance to Nicole’s favourite K-pop songs. It was playful, raucous, and a beautiful reminder that weddings are about celebrating personality as much as design.
Other moments — quiet exchanges in the walled garden, laughter during speeches, and hugs from friends who had travelled across the globe — created a rhythm that felt natural, joyful, and unforced.
The Autumnal Feeling
Nicole and Justin’s wedding at Eastwell Manor wasn’t about following trends or overcomplicating things. It was rich, considered, and alive with the season. From the floral overflow and warm colours to the tucked-away ceremony spot and unexpected dancefloor moments, it was a wedding that felt lived-in, intentional, and completely their own.
The day reminded everyone that planning across continents is possible, autumn winds are no match for determination, and a wedding can be both elegant and deeply personal.
